We all know that big
waters hold big carp that present big problems. Perhaps the biggest of these
is getting clusters of fish-holding bait out great distances. If you're
denied a boat then without doubt spodding does the job better than any other
method. The problem now is that the spod is heavy, aerodynamically quite
unlike a lead and, with a full load of bait hard to cast successfully. So
you need two things: the right style and, above all, the right rod.
Let's look at the rod
first. You can make do…an old beach caster perhaps will go halfway but, if
you're serious about catching big carp then you really need a tool built for
the job. And that means Greys'. The Greys' Spod rod has a unique,
progressive power design that's been purposely considered to meet all the
spodding needs of today's carp angler. The Greys' Spod rod has the power to
hurl the biggest bait-filled rocket to the horizon and beyond but, above
all, it's perfectly engineered to provide that slow, steady lobbing action
that builds up incredible power. The result, huge distance and pinpoint
accuracy cast after cast.
